Or..Consolidating measurement-related website databases
We are thinking seriously of restructuring three of our measurement websites to provide easier to find resources and news outlets. If you have any feedback, We’d certainly appreciate your comment(s) below.
For instance, it doesn’t seem efficient to maintain fixed, reviewed resource & supplier links to online measurement resources on three different websites, but we do at MeasurementDB.com, MeasurementDevices.com and MeasurementMedia.com
The databases are quite different at each site, but they are all databases and easily combined to make one very large set, easily searched or browsed. I’d like to put them all on one website and use the other two sites as news-only, self-service and searchable repositories of stories about new products, technologies, practices, publications, standards, education & meetings.
We did that with www.TempSensor.net. Left the resource & free vendors directories at www.TempSensor.net and moved the news activities to an entirely new site, www.TempSensorNEWS.com.
It worked very well and now www.TempSensorNEWS.com has gained an identity all its own among a different audience than those seeking in-depth resources on temperature & moisture sensor Vendor and Technology information at www.TempSensor.net.
Plus, both sites are self-service (self submission) and still free to all.
What do you think?
All feedback appreciated.
